Wheely es un taxi amarillo, un corredor inteligente y divertido, que intenta convertirse en el rey de la carretera en su ciudad natal, Gasket City. Durante una competición Wheely se topa con la famosa coche de lujo Bella di Monetti y se enamora de ella. Pero todo se complica cuando Wheely y su mejor amigo Putt Putt tengan que enfrentarse a una ardua batalla para salvar a Bella de Kaiser, un monstruoso camión de 18 ruedas que es el cerebro de un misterioso sindicato de coches de lujo.
